Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) is setting up capacity expansion facilities of Paraxylene (PX) and Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) units at its Panipat Refinery. Technical feasibility study by licensors of both the units was carried out for capacity augmentation of PTA from existing 553 KTA to 700 KTA and matching PX capacity addition from 363 KTA to 460 KTA of PX. Jacobs Engineering India Pvt. Ltd has been awarded engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for PX & PTA Capacity Expansion Project at Panipat refinery.
The objective is to provide Scope of work for QRA for the revamp PX & PTA units for the project, IOCL, Panipat and purpose of this document is to provide the general requirements which have to be followed to perform Quantitative Risk Analysis of process units and off site & utilities for PX-PTA expansion Project.
