Since the early 1990s, reservoir pressure in Qatar’s North Field has been declining rapidly as Qatar Gas Operating Company Ltd and other operators have been continuously drawing gas from the QG1 reservoir.
The QG1 production plateau, consists of two new wellhead platforms (WHPQ10 and WHPQ11), two new intra-field pipelines and subsea composite cables, one new riser platform (PRQ1) bridge, connected to the existing QG NFB PU, and associated brownfield modifications at existing the QG NFB Complex. A new bridge installation between QG NFB PU and QG NFB PR is also available. To sustain the current QG1 production plateau, a stress analysis study of the piping within the Deluge Valve skid has been conducted.
Stress–strain analysis (or stress analysis) is an engineering discipline that uses many methods to determine the stresses and strains in materials and structures subjected to forces.Stress Analysis of the piping is conducted to satisfy whether the stresses and displacements are within limits, in accordance with ISO 14692 for GRE Pipe and ASME 31.3 for COPPER-NICKEL pipe, and to also provide pipe support load data for the structural design of the skid. By using the stress loads and displacement the civil team find the structural acquiesce.
