Lining up of agency for revisiting Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) Study at Paradip Refinery

Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) is a structured and systematic examination of planned or existing process operation to identify and evaluate problems that may represent risks to personnel or equipment, or prevent inefficient operation.

In view of the above, HAZOP revisit study for Process Units, Offsites, Power & Utilities, including PP Unit, of Paradip Refinery is proposed to be done with the help of a competent External Agency.

Objective of the HAZOP Study:

To identify hazards associated with the facilities under the scope of work using the HAZOP study as the hazard evaluation technique.

To identify all deviations from the way the design is expected to work, their causes and all the hazards and operability problems associated with these deviations.

To decide whether action is required to control the hazard or the operability problem and if so to identify ways in which the problems can be solved.

To identify cases where a decision cannot be made immediately and to decide what information or action is required.
