Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) And Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA)Study For GAIL Dibiyapur Pipeline Network

GAIL (India) limited has a facility for Gas (O&M) in Dibiyapur, which is certified by (IMS) for ISO 9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 & OSHAS 45001: 2018. Gas (O&M), Dibiyapur consists of approximately 1145 Kms of Natural Gas pipelines in two states (Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh).

The risk assessment on these pipelines are based on the hazards that may occur during the operation of these pipelines based on the inputs received. The scope of work is to carry out HAZOP and Quantitative Risk Assessment for Gail Dibiyapur Pipeline Network which includes Terminal, SV, RR and IP stations, and the study includes different components and equipment corresponding to this facility.

iFluids Engineering having the team of experts in this field has been entrusted by GAIL (India) Limited to perform the HAZOP and Quantitative Risk Assessment for Dibiyapur Pipeline Network.

The objective of Quantitative Risk Assessment study is to evaluate the potential risk levels for personnel due to accidental release of hazardous materials from loss of containment scenarios from the facilities and to demonstrate that individual risks lies within the broadly acceptable regions.

The objective of the HAZOP (Hazard & Operability) study is to aid in managing project risk through careful review of process or operation in a systematic manner to determine whether deviations from the design or operational intent can lead to unacceptable consequences. The early identification of hazards and operability problems paved way to reduce the probability and consequences of an incident that would have a detrimental impact to the personnel, plant, properties and environment. During the review, when insufficient safeguards are identified for a credible deviation, a recommended action is provided to be taken to reduce the risk.
